A story about BPAN
Author Kathy Monacella has published this picture book to raise awareness about the rare Genetic disorder known as BPAN – Beta-Propellor Protein-Associated Neurodegeneration, related to a mutation in the WDR45 gene – and follow Pia’s journey.

Teachers, parents and carers of three to seven year olds, will enjoy reading the story out aloud to the children, showing them the beautiful watercolour illustrations and initiating discussions about BPAN.
At present, there are no drugs or cure for this devastating disorder. Kathy hopes to publish more picture books in which she follows Pia’s journey.
